My Vinyl Offering – Brandon Duncan

Brandon Duncan

In My Vinyl Offering, we get up close and personal with our favorite musicians and friends to find out the most cherished parts of their record collection. This time around we feature the collection of musician/producer/artist and friend, Brandon Duncan.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…
“That would be a used copy of Voivod’s Rrröööaaarrr.”

The record that made me want to make music was…
“Not sure if I could name a record, but being a product of the early MTV generation, bands like Peter Gabriel, ZZ Top, Dire Straits, etc that had cool songs+music videos are what initially made me want to make music.”

The record I’ve played more than any other is…
“That’s an easy one: Judas Priest – Screaming for Vengeance.”

The record that always make me feel good is…
“George Thorogood – LIVE. It reminds me of simpler times, riding around in the country and going fishing with my family, working summer jobs, etc. Also glad I finally actually got to see him live a few months ago, he killed it!”

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…
“Lately, it would have to be Enforcer’s Into the Night. Upbeat speed metal stuff always brightens my day :)”

The record with my favorite cover art is…
“Right now it would have to be Surachai – Heavy Mask. That is one nightmarish album cover. A++.”

The strangest LP I own is…
“That would have to be Jon Wayne – Texas Funeral. It’s something else that’s for sure, ha!”

The rarest LP I own is…
“I actually don’t think I have anything too incredibly rare, but it would probably be my copies of Anwyl’s Postmortem Apocalypse LP and their Totalitarian Perversity EP. Plus they have sentimental value since the band was from the same area in Kansas I lived in back when they were active, and luckily I got to see them a few times.”

The last LP I bought was…
“The last LP I bought was Multiple Man – New Metal, and damn is it good. DKA Records has become one of my new favorite labels for electronic stuff!”
